A newly released qualitative study by Stenner et al. highlights three main themes that can help physiotherapists make their appointments more patient-centred:
(1) clear versus unstructured agendas;
(2) people need information and understanding; and
(3) developing a sense of collaboration.
Patient responses centred around communication and empathy. The authors expressed that, "Responding to each patient as a person is essential as no single dimension of person-centred care exists without reliance on other dimensions."
